# Limiting tickets per buyer

## Give every family a fair chance at tickets for your busiest shows.

**Quick answer:** On Stage Stubs, set a limit with Limit ticket purchase per customer when creating your event, or click Set a ticket limit on a live event. Each buyer can then only get that many tickets for each showing, across all their orders. Without a limit, people can buy up to 30 tickets per order.

When tickets are in high demand, it only takes one or two big bookings for other families to miss out. Setting a limit means each buyer can only get a certain number of tickets for each date, even if they try placing more than one order.

### When you're creating your event

Under **Additional Settings**, switch on **Limit ticket purchase per customer** and enter the most each person can buy for each showing.

### On an event that's already live

1. Go to **My Events** and click **View** next to your event.
2. Find **Maximum quantity of tickets per customer** and click **Set a ticket limit** (or **Change the limit**).
3. Enter the number (anything up to 1,000) and click **Save**.

### How the limit works

The limit applies to each showing separately. So with a limit of 4, a family could book 4 tickets for Friday and another 4 for Saturday.

Earlier orders count towards it: if someone has already bought 3 and the limit is 4, they can add just 1 more. Refunded tickets don't count. And if you don't set a limit, people can buy up to 30 tickets in a single order.

### Good to know

The limit is linked to the buyer's email address, so someone using a different email could still buy more. For very busy shows, it's worth keeping an eye on your orders, just in case.

### Common questions

**Does the limit apply to every date?** It applies to each showing separately.

**Do refunded tickets count?** No.
